Such batteries are favoured especially due to their long life cycle and simple operation. Furthermore, alternative battery technologies are still in development and therefore not yet ready for market launch.
How much power can a battery storage system provide?

The company claims the facilities can reach their nominal capacity within seconds and are designed to provide power for approximately one hour, or 235 megawatt-hours (MWh).
